Controllability of one dimensional degenerate parabolic systems

In this work we investigate the controllability issues for a class of one-dimensional degenerate parabolic systems. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the approximate and null controllability properties. The main technical tool for obtaining these results is the moment method developed by Fattorini and Russell and a careful analysis of the spectral problem of the associated degenerate operator
