Sevilla is easy to reach from the main Spanish cities. Sevilla has an international airport (Sevilla-San Pablo Airport) and a main train station (Sevilla-Santa Justa) with a fast-track railway connecting Sevilla with Madrid as well as many other important cities in Spain.


Sevilla-San Pablo Airport is about 10 km far from the city center. The most convenient ways to get to Sevilla is either by bus or by taxi.

By bus: One way trip is 4,00 Euros.

By taxi: For journeys between the airport and anywhere within the standard fare limits of the city of Seville, the following fares are applied:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 21:00. — 21.89 Euros.
Monday to Friday,  21:00 to 07:00; Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays; December 24th and 31st, 00:00 to 24:00. — 24.41 Euros.

Sevilla has good rail connections to Barcelona, Cádiz, Córdoba, Jaén, Jerez de la Frontera, Granada, Huelva, Madrid, and Málaga. The fast–track AVE railway line provides a 2h 30min connection to Madrid every hour. For more information you can go to the train company web page.

There are two bus stations with bus services to most of the main cities in Spain:

Around Seville

Local buses

Red painted city buses are the predominant public transportation. Information about bus lines (and tramway line T1) at Transportes Urbanos de Sevilla (TUSSAM) Tel: 955 479 000 or at their web page. You can get a one trip ticket (1,30 Euros) directly from the driver (or from the machines in the tramway stations) but it is cheaper if you buy a rechargeable travel card (they can be purchased at most magazine stands you find on the sidewalks all around the city): 6,40+1,50 Euros for a 10-trip card without conection (called "tarjeta sin trasbordo") and 7,00+1,50 Euros for the 10-trip multiple–connections travel card (called "tarjeta con trasbordo"). There are also tourist travel cards for one day (5,00 Euros) and for three days (10,00 Euros). You can donload a PDF with a map of the city with the local buses lines here (1,4 MB):


A typical taxi fare from north to south of the city center is around 8 Euros:

Public bike service: Sevici

You can easily obtain a short term subscription which lasts 7 days.

Price: Weekly amount to register to the System: 11€ + Deposit: 150€ (returned unless the bike is lost or stolen).

The first 30 minutes are free. If you still need the bike just find a Sevici Station, put your bike back, and take it out again. If you exceed 30 minutes without recharging at a station, you will be charged. The 1st hour after the first 30 minutes costs 1€, and after an hour and a half, its 2 € per hour. To register, go to any Sevici Station with your credit card, and follow the on-screen instructions.
